My Story
Hi there, my name is Jonathan Katz, and I’m the Owner of Big Katz Kitchen, LLC. Founded in 2023, we make quality, great tasting, small batch condiments and sauces, with our current focus being on producing delicious, flavorful BBQ Sauce.
I've always had an affinity for cooking and a love for all things food. Growing up in Rhode Island, we didn't have much in the way of BBQ. We're mostly known for Italian and Portuguese food, which is great, but sometimes you just want some good smoked meat with BBQ sauce. So, I bought a pellet smoker to address this problem and off I went, smoking all different kinds of proteins. After a few months of using store-bought sauce, I thought to myself, there has to be something better. I wanted to create a BBQ sauce that was versatile, borrowing from both Kansas City and Carolina styles. That's how Resting Rib Face was born. It has the perfect balance of sweetness, tanginess, and heat. You can use it as a dipping sauce, marinade, or condiment. When I shared it with friends and family, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. So, using Resting Rib Face as a base, I created two more flavors: HabaMango for extra heat and tropical sweetness from mango, and Bourbon Peach Pie for a sweeter taste without the heat.
Now, armed with three BBQ sauce flavors, I decided to form Big Katz Kitchen as a way to bring my sauces to the masses. Our sauces are so good, you won’t need anything else in your pantry!
